According to MacRumors, citing a DigiTimes report, the iPhone 13 Pro series will come with a 120Hz ProMotion display. We have seen the display tech on the iPad Pro models. Surprisingly, Apple has refrained from introducing the high refresh rate display on the iPhone series.

The report states that Samsung and LG Display have begun the conversion process from LTPS to LTPO OLED panels. It will likely be completed in the first half of 2021. However, the capacity will be lower than previously due to added steps in the development process. Apple might bring in China’s BOE to produce more LTPO displays.

Apple was expected to launch the iPhone 12 series with an LTPO 120Hz Promotion display. Rumours suggested that the company was contemplating choosing between 5G and a high refresh rate screen as including both would kill the battery faster than usual. Apple launched the iPhone 12 with 5G and seems like we will see a high-refresh-rate iPhone display later this year.

Currently, only the Pro models are tipped to get the 120Hz display. The vanilla iPhone 13 and 13 mini will come with a standard 60Hz screen. The notch on the upcoming iPhone is said to get smaller.
