Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro have been officially announced by Google and will launch later this year. The design of both the smartphones has been unveiled and they look very different from previous-generation Pixel phones. Along with the new design, Google has also gone the Apple route and incorporated its own SoC called Tensor to power the two phones. Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will come with Android 12 with Google's Material You design aesthetic when they launch this fall.Click here

It revealed that both Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will be powered by Google's own custom Tensor processor. This is similar to what Apple did when it introduced the A-series chipset for its iPhones. According to Google, the new chipset will make the Pixel 6 "the fastest, smartest and most secure Pixel phone".
Rick Osterloh, Senior Vice President, Devices and Services, at Google shared a blog post revealing the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones. The overall design of both Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro is the same, with the difference being their screen size, camera lenses, and a few features. The camera module is a protruding strip, which Google calls the camera bar that runs across the width of the phones and houses bigger sensors compared to the previous generation Pixel phones.

The Pixel 6 series still carries the dual-tone design with power and volume buttons on the right side and a blank left side. The Pro model features a polished aluminium frame while the non-Pro model comes with a matte aluminium finish. There is a single, centrally located hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera, and there seem to be three colour options for each model. Notably, the design for the Pixel 6 series does match the renders that were leaked early in May.
One prominent feature of this chip is its AI and machine learning capabilities, which seemingly exceed anything Google has had before on its phones. In fact, according to Google, it was the main reason the company invested in designing its own chip, so that it can implement its AI and ML features in a way it couldn't with off-the-shelf parts.

Google also seems to have upped its video recording game with this generation. Initial hands-on reports suggests that the Pixel 6 captures similar or even better quality video than the iPhone 12 Pro Max.
Both phones also have updated displays. The Pixel 6 will have a 90Hz flat panel whereas the Pixel 6 Pro will have a 120Hz curved display. Both will have a single hole punch camera at the top. The design is also quite distinctive this year. The Pixel 6 features a matte finished metal frame with glass on the back. The Pixel 6 Pro has a glossy metal frame and glass on the back. Both phones have this slightly retro-looking camera bar at the back that is reminiscent of the Nexus 6P. Both phones also come in three colors, with a two tone appearance on some of them.
We also have no word on pricing but expect them to be as expensive as other flagship phones on the market.
We will keep you posted on the same. Hence, stay tuned.
