Samsung has offered a periscope sensor with 10x optical zoom for three years in a row, starting with the Galaxy S21 Ultra but it seems that will come to an end next year. Noted tipster Ice Universe reports that the Galaxy S24 Ultra will only offer 3x and 5x telephoto sensors.
As per the leakster, the S24 Ultra will bring a 10MP 3x telephoto sensor and a new 50MP 1/2.52” sensor with 0.7µm pixels offering 5x optical zoom. Despite its shorter zoom range, the new 50MP telephoto module will likely offer a significant boost in image quality.
We previously got info that the S24 Ultra will reportedly offer a new 200MP ISOCELL HP2SX main sensor coming in at 1/1.3″ size and offering native 4-in-1 and 16-in-1 pixel binning as well as Super Quad Phase Detection autofocus. We’re also expecting the same old 12MP ultrawide and front-facing cameras.
